Summary
News article
drafts allows
players to create and manage drafts,
so they can work on them, edit and
decide when to publish them. Scenario
designers can leave drafts pre-written
for players so they can quickly modify them or players can create their own drafts
(maybe anticipating different
outcomes) and leave them ready to be
published.

Enabling news article drafts
In the Scenario
Editor, permissions
allow certain players
to post & edit news articles for
certain media
organisations.
Go to Personas and select
your desired persona, who needs to be marked as organisation. Then, in the Permissions tab, add the positions you want to enable this
capability for. When you assign this positions
to certain players, they will be able to
create their own drafts.
You can also mark tick the Website
editing checkbox if you want
players to be able to edit articles created by
others.

Publishing drafts for players
In the Scenario editor, in the MEL/MIL view it is possible to
publish an article as
draft. This means it won’t display but
will appear in the player’s list of
draft articles. It allows pre-written
templates to be created for the
players, as
would often happen in the workplace –
for example for press releases.
1. In the Scenario tab,
select MEL under View. 2. Click or create
any website article (in
article-based websites) 3. Turn the switch
to "Publish as draft" | ![]() |
4. When
players log in and
click to edit any article,
they
will access their drafts
table 5. There, the
draft will be ready for them
to be
edited or posted. | ![]() |

![]() | When editing a draft, players can: - decide on which page to publish (from the organisations that have this permission enabled) - decide to post as specific personas or leave with "No author" - choose title and subtitle - write and format text for the draft - add rich media Once edited, they can decide to publish live or save as draft |
![]() | When published live, articles no longer appear on the drafts panel, and they are seen live on the Website channel. Published articles can be edited clicking the editing icon next to the article title. Once edited they can be re-saved or posted as a new article. However, they cannot be saved as a draft again. |
